IÑAKI AGUILAR

Iñaki Aguilar

Iñaki Aguilar is a Mexican film director and writer based in Madrid. He studied film at the University of Westminster in London, graduating with First Class Honours for his praised dissertation on hyperfemininity and neo-feminism in the films of Sofia Coppola. In 2024, he shot his debut feature film Lujuria in Madrid—a visually striking, low-budget film that boldly explores themes of desire, morality, and religion. Currently in post-production, it is set to premiere in fall 2025.

He is also developing his second feature, continuing his exploration of hybrid genres and intimate, auteur-driven storytelling. Under the pseudonym Cruz Del Castillo, he published the novel Corpus Christi, Texas, a southern gothic tale of infatuation and Catholic disintegration in the American borderlands. In March 2025, his sapphic horror short film El Exorcismo de Dolores won the Rivas Plató de Cine Award at the Rivas Film Festival. His work spans unique narratives, psychological horror, and Lynchian atmospheres across Spain, Mexico, and the UK.
